We had our monthly dinner club last night and I actually remembered my camera and have time today to post the pictures :o). It started off as a slightly weird dinner club, with just three of us enjoying gluhwein and sherry. The rest of the girls arrived a little later and we only had one absentee, which was pretty good. And she was forgiven as it was her son's 1st birthday. As a group though, we seem to be going through a slight slump as far as dinner club is concerned and we don't often get it together that we're all there. We're working on it though, we all enjoy our time together, so can't let it fall apart. For me, the time I spend with girlfriends, who come from similar walks in life is great, we all have issues and problems and it's wonderful to have a safe space to chat about life. I love the girls in our dinner club and I always look forward to catching up over some good food and wine. Perhaps it's just winter...

Caroline hosted our dinner club at her parents home, which they have sadly sold. It's a gorgeous place, with amazing views over Cape Town and we have had many good parties there over the years. Not to mention, the amazing yoga classes Caroline used to run - oh how I miss those. Anyway, it was lovely to have one last get-together in the Green's magnificent home.

Caroline made us the most delicious vegetarian pasta filled with cherry tomatoes, pepper dews, spinach and garlic. Plus some secret ingredients - it was divine. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of the food, but we have plenty of us. As usual, we had far too much dessert, but we wouldn't be women if we didn't enjoy our pudding. Sometimes we can have our cake and eat it!

A HOT house...

We had dinner club last night at my 'new' house. Our group has diminshed in size quite a bit and we are now down to just 6. I can't remember when last I had so much fun and it was amazing to share my home with my beautiful friends over some good food (well, I made it, so I might be being a little baised here) and some delicious wine. I hope now that my friends know where to find me, I'll have a lot more company!!

Our evening was relaxed, we lit candles, drank a little (some of us more than others - hey, I didn't have to drive anywhere!) and caught up. We haven't had a dinner club since our Christmas one, it was long over due! We chatted a lot about the importance of having girl friends and about sharing our lives with women who really care. We have all walked such different paths and come from varying backgrounds, but life has drawn us together. We all have issues and there aren't words to describe how good it feels knowing that we have a safe 'place' to turn when life throws us lemons (as it seems to be doing to so many at the moment. I love you girls!

Back to the purpose of the evening, dinner... Let me just say that I love Ina Paarman. I think she's an amazing chef; her recipes are super-easy to follow (and fairly impressive) and her ingredients are always readily available. So, last night I made onion, feta and olive pizza for starters. I didn't top with cheese, just drizzled a little olive oil over the top and popped them into the oven. I used Ina's Basic Pizza Dough recipe and I can honestly say that it's an incredibly easy dough to make. I can't knead, so I just mix it up as best I can and it always works well. The trick is to roll the dough really thin and it comes out super crispy and totally delicious. The best pare is that you can freeze it for up to 6 months and I swear I'll always have some in the freezer (just in case you all decide to visit more often). Jake's made a request for pizza for dinner tonight, so I'll be making more tonight. Oh and I didn't mention that I had some cooked pizza left over from last night, which I wrapped in foil and popped into the fridge - it was still crispy and delicious this morning!!

For mains, I made Spinach and Ricotta lasagne, aslo an Ina Paarman's recipe (blush). We have 2 vegetarians in our dinner club and I must be honest in saying that I always find the thought of cooking vegetarian food a little uninspiring (SORRY, just being honest). It's because I have no clue what to do without meat. Anyway, this lasagne dish was so simple to make and it was so delicious (even if I say so myself). I'm so pleased there are left overs in my fridge for tonight! I'm having a friend over and she and I can have lasagne; the kids can have pizza - easy peasy!

We had 2 birthdays in our dinner club this month - Michelle (who turned 40, can you believe?!!) & Zanita. Zanita brought along a rich, delicious caramel custard cake, from Limnos Bakery, which was absolutely heavenly. Thank you for leaving me some in my fridge! Jake had some for breakfast (I'm not a bad parent, we normally have cereal or fruit and yoghurt!) and I had a little after the left over pizza... YUM!

Anyway, I look forward to our next dinner club. I loved having you all at my house, please come again!!

Mount up ladies...

Oh my!! I thought I'd already posted these pictures... I'm so, so sorry for the delay!!!

The Delicious Divas went to The Mount for our Christmas Dinner in December. The chef and owner was previously a chef at the Mount Nelson, a prestigious hotel in Cape Town. Needless to say, the food was exceptional (well, I thought so at least) and we all ate and drank far too much. Again... We also had a visitor, Wendy, who joined us for the night out. Actually, Wendy's an honourary Delicious Diva member and joins us whenever she's in town...

Since it was Christmas, we did a Secret Santa and each bought/recieved a small gift. I was totally spoilt with a gorgeous book and divine chocolates...Zaneta, Michelle & Pia...

Mano's...

Mano's is situated on Green Point Main Road and well worth a stop if you ever find yourself in the area. It's a large restaurant, with outside seating for hot summer evenings. We were a rather small group for this dinner club - down to just 5 of us, which was actually lots of fun and quite nice to be able to chat as a group. Below are the pictures...

Boo...

So, I figured that if I put up the pictures from our most recent night out, you'd forgive me for my slowness with last month's snaps (if there's anybody out there). We had a lovely evening on Tuesday night at a gorgeous spot in town called Boo Radley's. There weren't too many of us and the mood was quite festive. Boo Radley's is situated in one of the little side alleys between Long and Loop Street and I was really taken by it. It's got a lovely bar, which wasn't overcrowded with a bunch of boozing kids. The clientele all seemed to be around our age group, which was nice for a change. Our waitress, Kate, was well-spoken and quirky, although the service was a little slow and by the time our food arrived, I think we'd all pretty much filled up on cocktails, which were superb...

Private joke? Must've been a good one...Veronica's vampire impersonation - Edward Cullen? In your dreams Ronnie...

So, ages and ages ago, we went out for dinner to a gorgeous, trendy restaurant, called Sinns. It's in Wembly Square at the top of town and, despite the overlooking gym (I was a little disappointed that we couldn't actually see any hard working men up there) we all ate and drank to our heart's content. The food was excellent, but then again, it generally is. I don't think we've ever been anywhere that I haven't been at least satisfied with my meal.

We were a small group again (where are you girls, we missed you!!), but still had a great time. I must be honest, I'm finding that I'm the only one updating this blog and nobody seems to comment, so I'm not even sure that anyone checks it. Hello... is there anybody out there? I'm running out of things to say, it's a bit like talking to myself. Never mind, I do that often enough anyway. Here are the photos that Pia took with my camera on the night (there would've been only these first 2 if she hadn't taken the rest!)...

Zibaldone...

Our May dinner club was held at Zibaldone in the Tygervalley Waterfront. The restaurant is a fine dining Italian one and, once again, we all had a great time. It's always good to get out without men and kids and, as a group of relatively young women, just to let our hair down. We enjoy a glass of wine (or cocktails), some great food and experience a new restaurant. I love our dinner club and I love seeing friends I don't see often enough! We have a new member, Karen, who's recently moved to Cape Town from the UK with her two girls. Karen lost her husband 2 years ago, so she's a single mom like me and we've been spending quite a bit of time together. She doesn't know many (younger) people in Cape Town yet, so she had a great time out too!!

So, since there's not much else to say, here are the snaps...

We started off with drinks at Beuna Vista Social Club, next door to Zibaldone. Anchen agreed to have this 'Shrek' shooter. It's a shot of Apple Sours, a shot of something else and the Red Bull to finish it off...

Fabulous...

OK, so I'm revoltingly late in getting these pictures up here. Actually, it's our next dinner club tonight and I thought I'd better make an effort to sort out last month's photos and post them before I have to do tonights...

So, our last dinner was at a restaurant called Fabulous. It's a Moroccan restaurant and I really enjoyed the whole mood created by low tables, cushions, dim lighting and of course, deliciously flavoured food. The restaurant's situated at the top of Kloof Street, in the heart of Cape Town. It was a divine and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, although I think the mojitos had something to do with that too.

Anyway, sorry this is so short, looking forward to seeing you all tonight!!

OK, so since it was so long ago that I took these photos, I'm not quite sure what's what any more. These are some of our starters. Deep fried camembert... Beetroot & goat's milk cheese...Falafal herb salad. This was mine - it was delicious and way too big to finish...
Mains were delicious, but after the huge starter, I couldn't finish mine. This was the vegetarian pasta. I know it had chickpeas in it, but not sure what else. I can remember someone saying it was hot...

I have no idea what was inside this phyllo parcel, but it looks pretty...This one I recognise - it's fish done with a mango and pomegranate salsa, with couscous done with parsley (in my opinion, way too much parsley)...
Besides the cocktails, this was our wine of choice for the night...By the end of the night, I'd almost forgotten I owned a camera and almost entirely forgot to take any photos of the desserts. I did manage to snap one of my half eaten halva ice-cream, which was, well, fabulous...

Meloncino

Well, last Tuesday night (sorry I've been slack in getting these pictures up!!) saw The Delicious Divas seated at Meloncino in the V&A Waterfront for dinner. It was a stunning evening and we sat right next to the huge open doors looking out over the lights twinkling in the water. Had the sun still been up, we would have had a beautiful view of our gorgeous Table Mountain as a backdrop.

It was a really fun dinner club - there was much celebrating over the safe arrival of baby Nina May and bubbly was ordered and enjoyed in her honour. While we missed having Caroline with us at our dinner, it was just so exciting for us to all be together to celebrate the birth of her beautiful second daughter. We wish you, Caroline and Craig, everything of the best in this next chapter!! And we can't wait to have you back at dinner club!!

Meloncino is an Italian restaurant and boasts 3 genuine Italian chefs. It's a relatively trendy and very busy restaurant with the most divine pizzas and pastas (I had one with parma ham, rocket and parmesan shavings - to die for). Their wine list is extensive and offers the best of the best. Since they're based in the Waterfront, one of our top tourist destinations, the service level was good and we all had a great time.

For me, the only downer was that the waiter never brought me my leftovers (half a pizza!) to take home with me. While I don't enjoy walking around with a pizza box full of leftovers tucked under my arm. I would've enjoyed another slice of that pizza for breakfast!!!

Mesopotamia...

Our dinner club was pretty poorly attended this month. In fact, for various reasons, there were only 5 of us that were able to make it. Everyone who wasn't there was very missed and, in turn, missed out on a fabulous evening. It was Nicky's chance to pick a restaurant this month and she chose the first Kurdish restaurant in South Africa, Mesopotamia

I was first to arrive and, very unlike me, had a cup of coffee while waiting for the others to join. Honestly, I think it was my favourite part of my meal - THE most delicious coffee I've ever had in my life! I was offered 2 variations - Turkish (without milk) or Kurdish (with milk). I chose Kurdish, since it was a Kurdish restaurant. It was served in an espresso cup, which made me nervous, but honestly, it was like liquid chocolate. I can't stop thinking about it! It was a little gritty, but that was just part of the experience! The waiter (or kitchen staff) had also pre-mixed sugar in, which I don't normally have - it was honestly the most enjoyable cup of coffee I've ever had. Chocolate... Hmmm....

So, Mesopotamia... As I've already said, it's a Kurdish restaurant, which means it serves Middle Eastern foods. One sits on the floor, on cushions and low cushioned chairs around low antique copper tables. I think if our group had been any bigger, we would've needed 2 tables (each seats 5) and that would've broken up the party up a bit. The room is really dimly lit with candles on each table and colourful, lanterns hanging from the ceiling. The walls and ceiling were decorated with traditional rugs of various colours and shades and they were playing traditional music quietly in the background - I really enjoyed the atmosphere and enjoyed having a few moments to to myself to take everything in. There was just so much to look at.

I think we were all too busy chatting to be bothered to read the menu properly, so opted for a set menu and the food was good - such beautiful and interesting flavours. The meal was shared, which I always find fun, relaxing and very social!! Starters included pates (humus, tzatziki, coriander and feta), aubergines and a spicy chicken dish. This was served with flat breads. I think we were all pretty full after starters and were quite glad that we were given a decent breather before mains arrived!

Mains were served on a tray and included, roast leg of lamb, lamb chops, mixed vegetables, a chicken bake and chicken skewers done in 2 variations. Since Michelle's a vegetarian, the restaurant accommodated with a vegetarian set menu for her, which looked divine!! For dessert, we all had baklava with ice cream; I was so full, I couldn't manage mine.

In between mains and dessert, the music in the restaurant was turned up and a belly dancer entertained us. She was really good and I am sure that the Indian men find their dancing incredibly sexy. She did make me feel less conscious of my rolls - hers were all on display and she looked great. I can't believe how well she could move - she didn't deserve any of the little rolls of fat around her waist!!! Having her perform, livened up the room and she called on various patrons to get up and dance with her. Chantelle was the first up, though most of us got a turn at some point. She made me feel like an un-coordinated plank on the dance floor!

To Greece and Back again...

ttleWell, dinner last night was DIVINE. Not sure if everyone else enjoyed it as much as I did (perhaps it was the wine - good choice Anch!), but I'll definitely be back for more.

Set out pretty similar to a typical Greek cafe, the restaurant was casual and simply decorated, in blue and white - true to Greek form. We even sat on plastic blue chairs. The food was divine and a real treat for my Greek-hungry body (ermmm...) I'm still full. And let me not get started on those desserts. By the time they arrived on the table, I'd completely forgotten that I had a camera on my lap - I was too busy tucking in anyway. I'd actually re-visit the place just to have another helping of that absolutely heavenly halva ice cream!!

On the down side, as far as I was concerned, the service wasn't fabulous and Nicky was baptised with a glass of red wine down her back by our waiter. He also didn't rush to refill our glasses. And he wasn't hot. We did, however, have a good break between courses, which also meant that the evening was laid back and not rushed in any way. Also, for Greek food, I didn't think that they'd been overly generous in the garlic department and they substituted pita breads with wraps for our main meal (those of us that had schwarmas), which was disappointing. Still, the meal was delicious...

How many martini's are we supposed to judge our restaurants on? Guessing 5. So, I'd give them a 4. I really enjoyed my evening and it was just what I felt like. I'll defintely be back for more!!

What do you do for a living? IT recruitment. Have had my own business with a partner, since March 99, working from home since late 2004. Has it's moments, but I shouldn't complain, money really not that bad for amount of work you do an I get to see my kids - got the best of both worlds I suppose. But generally same shit different day.

Claim to fame: Obviously making beautiful kids, would be the first thing - who can deny that????
Some would say , my potato bake - I mean it's good, but I'm bored of it. Have to invent something new and hip - watch this space...

Restaurants you have chosen so far: Maestros on the beach and Mama Romas.

Favourite Restaurant and why: Pigalles. Devine variety of food, excellent ambiance - just all round an enjoyable evening to be had....

What is your Favourite food: Difficult one, but if I could only choose one thing, it would have to be Seafood, specifically prawns. I could literally eat these until I threw up. But way at the top of the list is Chocolate - I have no problem eating 3 chocolates a day and have often done this in the past - I don't care that it's bad for you/makes you fat blah blah blah...I can't hear you

Is there anything you don't eat: Brussel Sprouts and Peppers and liver. Other than that, I'm not a fussy eater.

Celebrity chef: Don't really have one but if I had to choose , probably Ainsley would be one - like his style of cooking, he's quite sweet actually - and his food seems to always appeal to my taste buds.

Ideal way of sepnding a night out: Definately starting off with cocktails, then something like a Dinner Dance is right up my ally. And if still not in the mood to go home, then lattes/cuppacinos at a little cafe. Good company of course. Preferably a couples evening.

Things I can't live without: Obviously my 2 kids, Keegan and Morgan!! My husband, Jody (cos man oh man, I really can't do this 2 kid thing alone) - my ghd straighters (anyone who has one will understand) and lastly, but certainly not least - MY SHOES!!!!

Can I cook and my signature dish: Yes I can cook, I think quite well and I know quite a few people think so. I make a top class Peanut Satay Dish and my goulash is to die for , if I say so myself (actually had that last night - yum-yum-yum)

Favourite cocktail: Pina Colada. Also really Like strawberry daquiris.

Naming a cocktail after me and the ingredients? Gosh really got me thinking here...okay ingredients 1st: Vodka, loads of crushed ice, cranberry juice, pineapple juice, Malibu and a dash of lime, Would have to go with something like Passionate Princess.

And I've chosen to go GREEK.

That's the name of this restaurant too, by the way. I've been dying for real Greek food for the longest time ever and when I realised that it was my turn to pick a spot this month, I just had to find a good Greek restaurant. My all time favourite is Maria's in Dunkley Square, but they're closed for renovations at the moment - how disappointing!! It's quaint and bustling and the food is probably as close to the real thing as you get around this part of the world. Plus they serve real Greek wine, Retsina (it's revolting, but just so part of Greece). Anyway, I called them to find out when they're expecting to re-open and it seems like it's going to be a while still. Something to do with plan approval and heritage sites. The owner, Dino, recommended GREEK, so I'm going to take his word that it's good and give it a go.

Here's a map so you don't get lost. I know the place is out of the way for some of us, but its not like you're driving all that way every day...

Just to end off (on the restaurant side of things), I also found a few reviews on GREEK, to whet your appetite:

"It was just a brief encounter with "Greek" in Durban Rd, Little Mowbray, but certainly worth memorising and blogging about. The interior is in typical Greek fashion: blue and white. Nothing fancy, but that's not what you'd come there for. The service is friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding. The Dolmades, compared to the oily stuff you can buy at Pick 'n Pay, were firm and very tasty - yummy stuff! The Spanakopita (spinach phyllo) was out of this world. Better still, despite the simplicity of the outlet, the presentation of the food was excellent. The prices were ok; considering what you get, they're not cheap but also not expensive. What do you do for a living: I work half days (lucky, hey?) at a Marine Electronics company. I do all their books, including salaries, vat, invoicing, imports/exports, local & overseas payments – basically everything that nobody else wants to do. We’re the sole importers/distributors of two specific products (Simrad & NorthStar) in Southern Africa. For the other half of my day, I’m mother to Jake, who’s four years old and full of beans. I probably work harder in the second half of my day then I do in the first…

Your claim to fame: I don’t really have one… I’m just me. Maybe that I can touch my nose with my tongue?

Restaurants you’ve chosen so far: As a founding member of this dinner club, I had the pleasure of choosing the very first restaurant we went to – Haiku (http://bukhara.com/haiku/). Since I’m up again, it means we’ve come full circle, ladies, and that our dinner club must be a year old already!! Whoo-hoo – what a good reason to celebrate!!!!

What is/are your favourite restaurant and why? I absolutely love Haiku. I’ve only ever been there twice (it’s a bit pricey), but the atmosphere is great and, since I’ve only ever been with good girl friends, the mood is always fabulous. I also love the restaurant at Buitenverwachting (http://www.buitenverwachting.co.za/) since it’s the farm where my late husband, Jacques was a wine maker. We had many GREAT evenings in the restaurant and it was always a real treat to be taken there for dinner. Usually for some special occasion. Lots of good memories... As mentioned earlier, I also love Maria's. It's just so perfectly Greek! But, I’m not all that picky in the restaurant department. I just like to know that the place is clean and that the food is fresh. I love trying out new places.

What is your favourite food? I’m not all that fussy in the food department. Does chocolate count?? Dessert? OK, then, I love pizza and hot chips. I’m a junkie! I also really love calamari and fish of any kind. And I love a braai, so basically anything cooked over the coals is a winner. I love home-made bread.

Is there anything you don’t eat? Again, I don't think I'm all that fussy, though I don’t like food that’s too warm on the palate. And I don’t eat shell fish, but do really enjoy the freshly caught crayfish that my father-in-law serves over the festive season. Oh and I’m not too wild about Brussels sprouts. And I don’t like fat on meat.

Who is your favourite celebrity chef? I never watch the cooking channel (we don’t have satellite TV), so I actually don’t know any of them, besides ol’ Jamie Oliver. He’s been around for so long, I’m not sure that he even counts? Oh and that Ainsley guy, but just because he’s funny. Oh, I also swear by our local chef, Ina Paarman (http://www.paarman.co.za/) – she’s always an inspiration when I’m having guests for dinner, although that’s not very often at the moment.

What is your ideal way of spending a night out? Um… Never kiss and tell? Just joking. Like all girls, I love to be wined and dined, but at this stage of life, I honestly prefer getting out with a group of girls, enjoying good food & wine (a must!) and letting my hair down. I love the vibe when there are no men around and I love that nobody’s got to pretend to be a “good girl”.

Name the things you can’t live without? I can’t live without my child, my friends, my animals, the sun, the beach, my car, my radio, chocolate, the gorgeous mountain we live below – and how lucky & blessed am I to have all these things??

Can you cook? If so, what is your signature dish? I can cook, but it’s not my favourite hobby. And I haven’t done too much of it for a while. At the moment, my signature dish would have to be Mac & Cheese (it’s Jake’s favourite!). I love making desserts though. I make a killer baked cheese cake and I adore my coffee tart, but neither are very good for the waistline.

What is your favourite cocktail? A mojito!! And frozen margaritas, Long Island Ice Teas and Kir Royale. Just to name a few... Not fussy, remember??

If they were to name a cocktail after you, what would be in it and what would it be called: Goodness, I’ve never worked in a bar and mixing drinks is always risqué business for me. I know what I’d call it though – Sooooz, I just have no idea what to put in it. Um… here goes… 2 shots white grape juice, a shot of gin (cos I like it), a shot of Blue Curaçao and top it all up with champagne. Dry champage. Garnish with strawberries/kiwis/pineapple. I think it’d look quite cool, just not sure how it’d taste with the gin. I should probably try it out, that doesn’t sound half bad and I have all the ingredients at home right now… will let you know how it turns out!!

We had our monthly ladies dinner at La Masseria (http://www.lamasseria.co.za/) in Durbanville last night and it was fabulous as usual. For various reasons, a lot of the girls couldn't make it, so there were only 5 of us last night. It was nice and intimate, although we did miss everyone else and it was a very tame night out and I don't have a sore head today. Thanks so much for organising everything, Anch, and for the gorgeous roses you spoilt us all with! Been a long time since anyone bought me flowers! Hopefully next time, whoever organises the venue will be better with directions! Anch sent us all on a wild goose chase and later confessed that she also got lost on the way. • What do you do for a living? Previously a yoga teacher come psychology student but now a full-time mom.

• Your claim to fame? The one-handed photo and instigating what I perceive to be scintillating conversation.

• Restaurants you have chosen so far: Annapurna and Manolo

• What is/are your favourite restaurant and why? I love restaurants with good ambiance. I used to love Madame Zingara in Cape Town when it was still around, as apart from the yummy food the whole experience was truly unique. In London there is a Morrocan restaurant called Pashas (Gloucester rd) that I would rate as one of my most favourite restaurants ever. La Belon Rouge in Franschhoek was also a favourite, as is current The French Connection.

• What is your favourite food? Sushi but generally all things Asian, Greek and fusion style meals.

• Is there anything you don’t eat? Red Meat

• Who is your favourite celebrity chef? You know I don’t think I really have one. Locally I love Mathew Gordon’s food. I love watching them all on BBC Food, but to be honest I rarely try out the recipes. I think I will just say Giorgio Locatelli as he is welcome to cook for me anytime :)

• What is your ideal way of spending a night out? Drinking too much (good) wine and enjoying a tasty meal with family or friends at a restaurant with a good vibe.

• Name the things you can’t live without: My family, Music, My ipod and macbook. Recently my ghd and yoghurt. (ok, yes and sex)

• Can you cook? If so, what is your signature dish? Yes, reluctantly. Probably a Lora Lei salad and Mousaka or pasta.

• What ingredients do you always cook with? Garlic!!

• What is your favorite Cocktail? Depends on my mood. Kir Royal; Black Russian (if in Ireland), Blend Manhattan (if at Alba) or anything with Vodka in it.

The Crazy Caz sounds about right! It's not my turn to do a review of the restaurant, but I will say that the evening was great and I had lots of fun as always. What do you do for a living?: I work as a product developer for Leisure Books concentrating on illustrated and children's titles - yeah fun

Your claim to fame: Other than the fact that everyone loves me?

Restaurants you have chosen so far: Poplars and 95 Keerom

What is your favourite restaurant and why?: Hard to say...can't single out one, but any restaurant with a good crème brulee has my vote. If I recall, Veranda's was excellent so I will have to go for Veranda for now :)

What is your favourite food?: I have to say chocolate! And yes I know it is not widely considered to be food, but hey, rules are made to be broken and I vote chocolate to be food!

Is there anything you don't eat?: I used to hate rice, but started eating it when I was pregnant. Mmm...I like brussel sprouts and people normally don't eat that... ah allikrik! (don't know how you spell it, but it is a shell fish thingy that Spuy's gran makes and it is horrible!)

Who is your favourite celebrity chef?: Love Jamie! Not necessarily his cooking, but he is cute and I can watch him for hours!

What is your ideal way of spending a night out?: Friends and lots of drinks...and some eyecandy would be nice. Love dancing and if there are enough drinks it might end up with some dancing!

Can you cook? If so what is your signature dish?: I can cook - suppose everyone can, but I just don't enjoy it!!!!! I make a mean macaroni & cheese, and I make a butternut dish that a) easy b) super fast and c) yummy!

OK, OK, I'm really sorry that I've been so slack in getting the photos up from our dinner last month. I mean, we've already had the next one and the pictures still aren't up. Truth be told, there actually aren't that many photos. I don't know why I didn't take many, maybe I was having too much fun chatting to the rest of you. And I completely forgot to take any pictures of the main course, but remembered to take when the desserts came out, of course.

I think it was beef, but can't remember how it was cooked, so obviously didn't create too much of an impression. Then again, I've got about the memory of a gold fish anyway. Ribovillle's an upmarket restaurant in an old bank building and the vault downstairs has been converted into the most amazing cellar ever. I could SO get lost in there.
